April 2, 2023. A meeting with Hector Alos-y-Font

Dear friends, we continue the cycle of meetings within the regular seminar “Gagauz dili zamanı” (“Time for Gagauz language”).
We are pleased to inform you that on April 2, Sunday, at 19:00 Moscow time, we plan to hold a meeting with Hector Alos-y-Font, the central theme of which will be the current state of the Catalan language.
Catalan is spoken in Spain, France, Andorra and Italy, but only in Andorra it is the only official language. It has a complex and largely successful history, very enlightening for many minority languages of the world.
Hector Alos-y-Font is a unique expert. Among other things, he is an external researcher at the Research Center for Sociolinguistics and Communication of the University of Barcelona, and works with machine translation systems for minority languages. He lives in the city of Cheboksary. He is unofficially called the first and only Chuvash sociolinguist.
The meeting will be held online via Zoom. To get the link, please contact us: mnogo.yaz@iling-ran.ru.
